Hello LeeVine, Please tell us what your system is, or look at the system requirements on the download pages of OpenOffice.org http://download.openoffice.org/2.3.1/index.html?focus=download vs. 1.1.4 is pretty old, the actual stable version is 2.3.1 A 2.x version will install itself alongside a 1.x version, so I think you can give it a try anyway.
