To convert them back, simply open them and re-save with the Word or Excel file formats. Another alternative, is to install the Sun ODF plug-in for Microsoft Office, which will enable it to read & write the OpenOffice files. BTW, why would you want to uninstall OpenOffice? You can have both it and Microsoft Office on the same computer.
