My previous post brought many responses, except for what I
desperately wanted - a method to put names into a graphic as arcs
around a central point.
Textboxes generally have to be straight and parallel to an edge unless
rotated.
Can anyone suggest a way to make curved text, specifically a circle
around a central point.
I will probably buy whatever program allows me to easily do that.
Thanks
Use Draw to create the graphic.
Create a new Draw file - by default the 'Format Fontworks' dialog is not
available on the toolbar - use Tools>Customize to add it to one of the
toolbars.
Now create a circle - with the circle still selected type your text -
again with this still selected open the "Format Fontworks' dialog.
Click on 'Rotate' to pull the text to the line
Click on "Countor" to get rid of the actual circle, leaving the text
Click on "Auto Size Text" to wrap it fully around the circle
Set the "Distance" to a negative number to pull it inside the circle, so
that it does not get clipped.
Basically - keep playing till you get what you want.
