Thanks, JimW, for the updated information ! The impression I get when comparing the two articles is that not a great deal has happened during these last nearly five years. I may be cynical, but it would seem to be the case that the US military is hedging its bets a bit, perhaps in order to pressure Microsoft. We shall have to wait and see ; for my part, I shan't be too terribly sad if Linux programmes do not find their primary use in the military.... Henri
