I have an other question on which at non of the ubuntu forums I couldn't find a clue:
I'm using Xubuntu and Oo office Word, Calc Pesentation and Draw. When I used Ubuntu en Oo in Windows It was possible to use the "guickstarter" optioin. Now in Xubutu it doens't seem te work. When I go to extra, options, memory. it apears not possible to enable the quickstarter, that option is grey, so can not be enables or disabled at all. Is it possible to make it work under xubuntu? If so , I'll will post in on the ubuntu forum. ----- Original Message ----- From: Harold Fuchs To: [email protected] ; [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, January 31, 2008 7:06 PM Subject: Re: [users] delete spacing in calc at the begin of a cell On 31/01/2008 10:36, Thomas Calis wrote: I'm using OO 2.3 My problem is: I have imported my banking Statements of acount in OO Calc. In the colums with the descriptions there is before all the sentences a spacing. How can I delete this spacing for al the cell's in a colums without deleting a the other spacings? (I don't even know how to that) 1. Select the column. 2. Go to the "Edit>Find and Replace" menu option 3. Click the More Options button 4. Click in the little box labelled Regular Expressions 5. In the "Search for" box type the *three* characters "^ +" without the quotes; that is Circumflex, Space, Plus. 6. Ensure that the "Replace with" box is completely empty - no spaces or anything else. 7. Click Replace All Done. Read up about Regular Expressions in the Help and/or in any book about Linux, Unix or Perl. The "pattern" "^ +" says "one or more spaces at the beginning of a line (cell)". If you leave out the +, then you'll only find cases where there is only one space at the beginning of the cell. -- Harold Fuchs London, England Please reply *only* to [email protected]
