Also, make sure automatic file name extension is selected, when saving a file. If you're sending a copy that the recipient is not expected to edit, you can send them a PDF copy of the file. If it is to be edited, you'll have to save in a format they can work with. If they don't currently run OpenOffice, this would be a good time for you to recommend it to them, or failing that, the Sun ODF plug-in for Microsoft Office, so they can read & write ODF files. http://www.sun.com/software/star/odf_plugin
