Hi Pete
Actually... equal, worse or better than MS PP ??? Ask Bill Gates and you
get one answer, ask in this forum you probably get another answer... :-)
It works fine for my needs, both suites...one program is free, one other
cost you money.
But if you have to buy MS Powerpoint, try OpenOffice.org just before to
see if it meets your needs. It may be a surprise for you..
Here is a link to an impress-guide in PDF-format. There are other guides
on http://documentation.openoffice.org.

I´m pretty sure that the book you bought isn´t the one you should read
to learn Impress. The MS Office-suite 2007 have an totally new look. Try
to sell the book on ebay etc.
Good luck

To Whomever,
I recently bought a book titled "Microsoft Office Power Point 2007 On
Demand" that goes through step by step on how to use it (I am a little new to
use PP presentations). I was going to purchase MS Office program when I get a
new laptop in a couple of weeks and be ready to use PP 2007 but then I was
introduced to OpenOffice. After exploring your web site, it seems the Impress
will be equal or be better than MS PP. Right or not??? However, since I bought
the book (and cannot return it) will the step by step instructions from the
book be similar to Impress? Or is it a whole new setup? If so, is there a
book that you can recommend that can guide me or is it already included in the
Impress package?
Thanks for your assistance,
Pete
