My attempt to modify the name of a field in my database resulted in the
field being deleted (along with all the data) and a new (empty) field of
the modified name being appended. :-( I decided to restore the database
from a backup, but having done so I am getting this error message:
"The connection to the data source "BGRAWalks" could not be
established. File input/output error C:\Users
................\BGRAWalks.odb.properties java.io.IOException:"
This comes up when I click on Tables, or when I try to run a query (the
queries are listed).
I have tried (a) restarting my PC, (b) closing down Quickstarter & (c)
opening the d/b from Quickstarter, but all to no avail. Other databases
are working OK. I'm running OOo 2.3.1 on Windows Vista.
I don't know if this is relevant, but when I started my PC yesterday I
got the OpenOffice.org Document Recovery screen. The document name was
blank, and status "not recovered yet". I clicked Start Recovery & it
came up "successfully recovered"; I clicked Next and the BGRAWalks d/b
was opened. It was working OK, & appeared to be in the same state as
when closed the day before. I made no amendments to it yesterday. I am
getting the same error message on backups taken pre and post yesterday's
OOo recovery.
Can anyone help, please?
