OOo does not run. What could it be?

I am trying to get OOo 2.3.1 running on an Intel QuadCore 64-bit under Vista Ultimate 64-bit. I have a 32-bit JRE installed, since OOo does not find 64-bit JREs. Writer starts correctly, but freezes on closing. Calc On another account (this time a non-admin) account, it just runs fine on directory, and the registry settings, but it does not help. In the AppData folder, is there the OpenOffice.org folder? If not, then search for it, and remove it. Under Linux & OS X, I have had to remove that folder when I have modified something that causes OO to not function properly.
