Folks;
so far I have enjoyed using OO.o as a desktop-based office application
on my machine, now I want to move things to some other level: So far
we're using a document management system automatically generating
documents using MS Office on a Windows machine, relying upon VB macros
and a more or less unstable integration. I would like to replace this
mechanism by an OO.o integrated into a Java EE (web) application
remotely calling (one out of several?) OO.o server instances to do the
job. My question, however: Where to get started doing so? So far I once
have managed to start openoffice in server mode, but, looking at the
SDK, I mainly have seen all sorts of introductions how to deal with
building GUI extensions. Any tutorials on how to embed a "headless"
openoffice into a Java application?
TIA and best regards,
Kristian
Take a look at Alfresco. They do exactly that!
