Alberto, from my own experience I can say that Ubuntu (present version 7.10) is very easy for those familiar with Windows versions to learn and use. I suggest you consider giving it a try. One of the many advantages of Ubuntu is the system of very lively user fora in different languages, among them French.... Henri Henri
