a) The issue here is that, thus far, the vast majority of commercial
a11y developers have point blank refused to provide any support for
OOo, or other FLOSS software. [At least one is on record for saying
that they will never provide support for any software that does not
originate at one microsoft way. ]

b) FLOSS a11y developemnt is being held back because the USPTO, in its
infinite wisdom, has been issue patents on request for the last twenty
or so years. The sole function of these patents is to maximize the
cost of R&D by other organizations, by reqiring them to either pay a
"royalty" tax for that which is blatantly obvious to all and sundry.

c) None of the organizations who allegedly help individuals with
a11y have the slightest intention of actually doing something that
will help their victims for more than the immediate future -- if that
long. They consistently advocate wasting US$25K+ per unfortunate soul
that falls into their hands, for tools that they know are sub-optimal,
non-functional, and not viable options in the long term, rather than
use any money for R&D in producing tools that do work for those whom
they allegedly, but consistently fail to help.
