Hello Steve,

The name of the spreadsheet component of OpenOffice.org is Calc.

OpenOffice.org comes as a complete office package, with text editor,
spreadsheet, presentation, drawing,... It is not advisable to install
only part of it because they are all integrated and one component uses
parts of another to function as required. The download is about 140
Mb, and once installed it takes 300-500 Mb of your diskspace.

AFAIK plugins only let you read, not modify, files?
