It's not quite clear to me what the OP has done - he mentions both 
.otg and jpeg. In the latter case, yes, he'll need some sort of ocr 
s/ware. If he /really/ has an otg file, then cut-n-paste would seem 
possible -- assuming he has a text box or similar in the document.

But then, I wonder why he'd save a working drawing as a template.

Maybe the OP could clarify??
