Ooops - I've been misreading the otg bit :-(  

If he actually has an otg file (but why a template?) all /may/ not be 
lost.  If the data is contained within text boxes, then a double-
click will open it, and the text can be selected and copied.  Of 
course, if it's bit-mapped image data, then it's back to OCR.

Could the OP say what is and how exactly he obtained the original 
file please?
