Ctrl+D is assigned to create a double underline. You can change that to insert a date as follows... 1. open Writer 2. select "Tools > Customize..." from the menu 3. select the "Keyboard" tab at the top of the dialog box 4. scroll down the Shortcut keys list to the Ctrl+D entry 5. select the Ctrl+D entry 6. click the "Delete" button (this unassigns the current shortcut) 7. with Ctrl+D still selected in the Shortcut keys list 7.1. select Insert from the Category list 7.2. select Date in the Function list 8. click the "Modify" button 9. click the OK button Ctrl+D will now insert a date when you use it.
