Ubuntu/kubunt version support ths extension. General OpenOffice not.
You can get never version of oo-build edition of OpenOffice.org (from
distros, or go-oo.org).
Also you can try OxygenOffice with xmlfilter (an alternative version of
Office OpenXML import efforts)
You can download it from: ooop.sf.net

Uwe Brauer írta:
Hello
I am on Kubuntu 6.10, which ships an outdate OO2.0.4 so I upgraded to
the latest available OO.2.3.1, and tried to install Novells MS-OOXML
filter using the package installer, not that I am fan of this format,
but just because of curiosity.
There was a complain about unrecognized mime/applications file type
but the packages seemed to be installed.
Indeed save-as and in the open file, included the docx option,
however I could not open a docx file, just nothing happened, nor could
I save the docx. A file with this extension was created, but when
unzipping it it turned out to be a odt file.
Does anybody know whether it is possible to use that filter in
OO2.3.1?
Shall I file an issue on bugzilla?
Does anybody know whom to contact at Novell?
thanks
Uwe Brauer
