Dear all,

in Impress, Open Office version 2.3.1, localized German version, a strange object has come into a barchart diagram.

I have
- manually created a bar chart
- entered data and a title etc.
- later double-clicked the title of the chart
- pasted a part of a title copied from another chart.

Now, instead of pasting the string from the clipboard into the title, Impress has created a new object. This object was first located right in the center of the chart. It can be moved around but not altered or deleted, neither by keyboard nor by the main pulldown menu nor by its context menu. The context menu only offers inserting, but this function creates another object of the same kind. Meanwhile, four of the kind are present.

cf. the attached sample file, from which I have deleted all other charts previously contained. The strings all start "Effekte des bedrohten Ansehens..."

Regards,
    Kurt.

Kurt:

I did not have much difficulty removing the extra Title objects. I made a number of new slides with the chart pasted into it and experimented. A couple of times I had some objects that had "hwinfo" show up in the chart, but they could be deleted. I then experimented with a new chart in Calc and found that charts do not like to have similiar objects pasted into it. i.e Only one Title object per chart. Chart does not recognize the foreign objects for what they are. I copied the axis title objects and pasted them into the chart with the same results that you had. The Legend box and Data Series mis-behaved, also.

It would appear that the only way to copy titles from one chart to another is to open the Title Dialog and copy the information from the Title field of the first chart and paste it into the Title field of the second chart.
