Hi, I just bought and downloaded your program. Well, it wasn't what I
thought and I need Office Word, Excel, and Powerpoint for school. I
tried
this but they said it was not compatible. I am doing school online
so it
has to be Office Word, Excel, and Power point. I hope that I can
get my
refund as it said 100% money back guaranteed if not satisfy. sorry
for the
inconvience.
Thanks,
Julia Ross
You don't need to BUY OpenOffice.org. It's free, no need to pay
anything, especially not if you download it.
If you need Word, Excel and PowerPoint, why didn't you buy Microsoft
Office? It seems like you bought one thing and expected to get
something else. Seems
incredibly strange to me, but maybe that's ONLY me.
Who said OpenOffice.org was not compatible and to what? It's
compatible with Microsoft Office as far as possible, but not for
100%; it's more like 95% or
so.
I normally stay out of this type of discussion, but I just can't
refrain this time. I have helped LITERALLY HUNDREDS of users all over
the world convert to OpenOffice over the years. In fact, I used it's
first "version" which was StarOffice for OS/2, like a few others here
did. Most of the "converts" are from the US and are using Linux,
although not all and most who are made the switch to Linux & OO all at
the same time........most to openSUSE Linux.
I can't tell you how many students are part of this group of
"converts," but I can assure you that there have been MANY - some
undergrad, grad, and quite a few doing all of their studies online.
NONE have any problems at all, and it's VERY, VERY rare that any
on-line professor will mandate that you send him a file completed with
MickySoft's Office! In fact, I'd be willing to bet that he or she
CAN'T mandate that at all. They might be able to say that they'll only
accept a doc formated file, but that isn't a problem if you use OO.
Now, MOST universities and colleges, like Cornell, UCLA, Rutgers, etc.
ALL accept and have standarized on students AND staff submitting ALL
material in PDF format. So, to be blunt, Julia, someone at the school
has either lied to you, doesn't know what they're talking about, or is
grossly ignorant.
