I don't think getting a CD will be an option, unless the CD contains the last version of OpenOffice.org that was built for Panther (the version of Mac's operating system on your computer: Mac OS X 10.3.9). This is version 2.1.0, while the latest version for an up-to-date Mac would be 2.3. The few people that develop OOo for Mac are too busy with the Aqua version for Tiger and Leopard, they have no ressources left to keep updating OOo for Panther (or Jaguar for that matter). So I think it's better you try to download the 2.1.0 version of OOo for Mac Panther at a friend's or at a cybercafé from here: http://porting.openoffice.org/mac/download/x11-103.html You'll also need to install the X11 windowing system, that comes from the Apple site: http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/x11formacosx.html it's 43 MB If all this seems tiresome, your Mac should have a small but useful text program: TextEditor in your Programs/Applications folder HTH -- Guy using dutch OOo 2.3 m221 on a iMac Intel DualCore Tiger and brazilian OOo SRC 680 m241 on an Intel MacBook Pro Leopard -- please reply only to [email protected] -- Dodoes can't afford to have headaches
