Just goes to show you how much I know about Excel... :-) > > In the document referred to above, I have no print ranges defined (I do use > print ranges, but only when I need them -- in most documents, I have no use > for them). That sounds odd, but I trust you on that; it's been awhile since I've actually used Excel except for testing something between OOo and Excel. However, I do recall in earlier versions of Excel that if the print ranges weren't defined printing would be a bit wonky - perhaps its changed. I do have MS Office 2002 so if you can send the file or a similar test file I'd be happy to have a go testing. I'm in Windows now: Looking at the Print selections in Excel 2002 I see "Print what": Selection, Active sheets(s), Entire Workbook. Now if I actually select all active sheets (in my case 2) and then do a File|Print|Preview Excel shows me all 5 pages on my test file. If I only select one sheet then it only shows me the print preview for that one sheet. Looking at the same file in OOo (Windows): If I remove the print ranges from a sheet nothing will get printed. You will get a popup that says: "There is nothing to print. The selected print range or sheet is empty. Basically, it is telling me that I *must* define a print range. So, define a print range in the sheet. Calc shows 289 pages because that is the total number of pages > that would be produced if all 7 sheets were printed (which, in my > experience, is a very unlikely requirement). How many pages does Excel show? This could just be a simple factor of adjusting the print formating. When you format the page: Format|Page|Sheet and adjust the scale does the number of pages change? To print just Sheet 3, it is, > as I said above, a non-trivial task to work out what page numbers to > print -- in Excel, all one has to do is hit the Print button when in the > sheet that one wants to print. It's the same in Calc if you define the print range(s) for the sheet that you are working with. Once the range(s) is defined: File|Print|Selected sheets and All Pages/Pages<defined> will work just fine. Again the offer is open if you don't mind sending me the spreadsheet directly. I'll understand if you don't want to send it (confidentiality etc), but if you do I can assure you that it will never be shared with anyone and will be deleted when finished. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
