OpenOffice does work on the Mac, though there are a few problems
with Leopard. Make sure your system is up to date, also get the
latest X11 client here: http://trac.macosforge.org/projects/xquartz/
wiki/Releases . The PC, of course, won't be able to use the same
executable as on the Mac - that is a separate download. OpenOffice
can load PowerPoint files, unless they have been saved in the brand
new Microsoft Office format.
