What happens when you run OpenOffice? Under normal circumstances it will ask you if you want to recover the document you were working on when the unexpected shutdown happened. Also, by default, OpenOffice backs up your documents. Go to http://openoffice.blogs.com/openoffice/2006/11/index.html and scroll down to the section headed "Creating Automatic Backups and Specifying Where They're Located in OpenOffice". If OpenOffice didn't back up your document then, sorry, it's gone. On a different note, this is an e-mail list run, for free, by users of OpenOffice around the world who volunteer our time to help others. We are not a "help desk". There is non-free professional support at http://www.support-central.org/openoffice/ but I'm fairly sure they will not be able to tell you much more. Also, because this is a public mailing list regularly read by several thousand people and archived in many places where it is accessible to anyone with internet access you may decide in future not to include personal details like phone numbers; here be tygers! -- Harold Fuchs London, England Please reply *only* to [email protected]
