I have put my email address in a Writer document and am not
succeeding in stopping it from being a hyperlink. The aspects of
being a hyperlink that I want to avoid are a) the colour (I want it
black like the rest) and b) the underlining.
There are various techniques:
o Go to Tools | AutoCorrect... | Options and remove one or both
ticks from "URL Recognition". This will prevent the hyperlink from
being created in the first place.
o If you don't want to make the above change, you can correct the
problem immediately it occurs. Typing the character after the
address and the consequential creation of the hyperlink are
considered by Writer to be two actions, not one. Immediately using
Edit | Undo (or Ctrl+Z or Alt+Backspace) will undo the hyperlinking
but leave the typing itself.
o If it is too late for that, you can select the hyperlink text and
then use Format | Default Formatting (or right-click | Default
Formatting or Ctrl+Shift+Space) to remove the hyperlink. Note that
this also removes any character or character style formatting (but
not paragraph style formatting), which will thus need to be reapplied.
I trust this helps.
