What password are you talking about? OpenOffice.org software doesn't need one and will only ask for one when you try to access a document which you explicitly used it to save with one. If you did that and, if you forget what passowrd you chose then it's unlikely anyone can help. NB. There are programs available that will attempt to guess your password but they are certainly not guaranteed to work. Assuming you are using Windows and assuming you have actually installed the software and not merely downloaded the installer, then the various components will appear within a folder on your Start menu or Start>All Programs menu. If you have only downloaded the installer then please read the installation instructions at http://download.openoffice.org/common/instructions.html If you have installed the software, Run Writer and use File>Open to open a Word or whatever document. If you chose, during the installation, to have OpenOffice become the "default" program for Word, Excel, etc. documents then just double clicking on a document will open it in OpenOffice. You might also want to read some documentation. Browse http://documentation.openoffice.org/ in particular the Getting Started guides. -- Harold Fuchs London, England Please reply *only* to [email protected]
