There is no version X.Y of OpenOffice. OpenOffice uses numbers to
identify release versions, like BMW. Not letters like Acura. The
current OpenOffice release is 2.3.1.

Regarding your dictionary issue, I do not believe that Word
dictionaries can be used in OpenOffice. You can, however, install
dictionaries in Open Office and then add your words to that
dictionary. If you have a file with many of your added words, they can
be added very quickly by running spellcheck and adding them as they
are marked.
