Using Openoffice 1:2.3.0-1ubuntu5.3 on Ubuntu Gutsy. I installed extension svg-import-1.2.2.oxt (from www.ipd.uka.de/~hauma/svg-import/). The extension appeared to be enabled under extensions. However, when I try to add a figure to a slide (under Impress - the same issue occurs with Writer), SVG does not occur in the filter list. When I try to directly paste an SVG image into the window, Openoffice crashes.
I have Java JRE 1.6.0_03 installed. On the webpage, the documentation states that it needs Java 5. So, I installed JRE 1.5.0_13 and switched the JRE used in openoffice. Restarted. Found that the above problem still persists. I do need to use SVG files in my presentations (EPS files are too big) that are scalable. Any suggestions ? PS : Why does openoffice.org does not have inbuilt support for a file format that is so well specified and fairly old ? --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
