Bill, I see that no windows users on the list have responded, so I'll give it a shot (I use linux). I had a smilar problem with a PPS with embedded sound files. If I recall correctly I had to extract the sound file from the PPT, and then tell Impress where to find the file via the Slide Transition (it was a .wav file). -- You have been cc'd on this post as you have posted to an open OOo mailing list.
