I'm afraid there is no "update" and you do have to download the whole
thing again. If you have Java already installed you can save some time
by unchecking the "With Java" box before starting the OpenOffice
download; that reduces it to about 112MB. Once you have installed the
new version, Tools>Options>OpenOffice.org>Java and select the version
you want. Note that it takes a while for OpenOffice to present you with
the list of possible Java versions; patience! Note too that even if
there is only one version available, you still need to select it.
Otherwise you might want to consider paying a few dollars (or whatever)
for a CD from one of the vendors listed on the download page. This is
primarily a service to users with slow/unreliable/expensive internet
connections although we make no recommendations and we give no
guarantees concerning any of those vendors. Just make sure the CD has
version 2.4 and that it's not much more than about USD10 plus P&P.
