I have downloaded Open Office 2.4 and have tried to open a WDB file (most of my data base files are wdb).

Are these Microsoft Works Database document files?

I've checked through all the various file extensions and can't find wdb is it a file that is not supported?

OpenOffice Base generally cannot open databases in other formats. Do you still have access to your copy of Works? If so, return to that and save the files in a different format. I think you have two options:

o Save your data from Works as a dBase file. You will still not be able to open that in Base, but will be able (in the first panel of the Database Wizard) to connect to it. This will give you access to the data and you can build a new database around it.

o Save your data from Works as a comma-separated-value (CSV) file. You can open this is OpenOffice's spreadsheet component, Calc, and can then copy-and-paste that information as a new table in your Base database. Again, you can build the details of your database around this.

I trust this helps.
