You may try as follows. Close OOo (if enabled - also quickstarter) Go to <Recovery.xcu> Path (OOo 2.x / WinXP): <...\Documents_and_Settings\<name>\Application_Data\OpenOffice.org2\user\registry\data\org\openoffice\Office> Delete <Recovery.xcu> Restart OOo (Go to Tools | Options | Load/Save | General and verify your settings) You may also open <Recovery.xcu> with a text editor and remove the entry corresponding to the deleted file.
