   This is completely legal and totally allowed under the Open Source
license agreements. You can get the program by downloading it for
free. However you will not get the same shiny CD that has their pretty
logo on it so clearly downloading isn't perfect. You can ask for help
with the program here and maybe someone nice will answer. On the other
hand for your $48 you become a member of their site and they provide
support. Is that support worth $48? I really couldn't say but you
appear to be entitled to it. There is value there I suppose. As a
member of their site you get a user ID and password. Are those of
value to you? If so you should be happy about spending the $48.

   Remember, Open Source allows people to build companies that support
users using Open Source. It's all good and should you pay your $48
then you become part of that larger scheme of things. However, if you
don't pay $48 then you are still part of the greater scheme of things,
just different.
