Thanks. > > Dave Hi Dave, One thing you might try is to open openoffice and go here: Tools->Options and in the section OpenOffice.org click on Java (next to the last item). Wait a few seconds and see what Openoffice recognises as your Java installation. Remember it may take a few seconds for OOo to find something. On my setup it finds Sun Microsystems Inc. version 1.6.0 and the location is given as /opt/jdk1.6.0/jre. See if the selected installation is the one you want. If it offers more than one choice then try the other(s) that are not ticked. This will give you an idea about what's going on.
