Please try OO2.4 from http://download.openoffice.org/index.html (as

If it crashes too please file bug in Issue Tracker (or just send your
.csv to me so that I could confirm the crash and file bug).
Hello,
The problem is not with Ubuntu's OOo, but with Debian Lenny's OOo 2.3.1.
I guess I will just wait for OOo 2.4 to arrive in Lenny since the
problem does not exist in the newer version.

H.S. ?????:
Hello,
This is on Debian Lenny using OOo 2.3.1. I am trying to open a csv
file which was made on a Mac system in MS Office. If I try to open the
csv with calc, OOo just crashes.
I was able to open another csv file, made via the same process earlier
in the day, in OOo 2.0 (on Ubuntu Dapper, it does not have newer OOo)
and it worked okay over there. It first asked me what separators
should be used (tab, commands, etc.) and opened the file accordingly.
Looks like something's a miss in the newer version (2.3.1) of OOo.
I also tried to run ooffice from the command prompt in the hope seeing
some errors but no luck there.
Any idea what could be wrong?
thanks,
->HS
