I have an Intel MacBook running Mac OS X 10.5.2 and X11 2.1.4. I had just downloaded OOo 2.4 a week or so ago and had played with it a bit (I only had X11 2.1.1 at the time) then one day it just wouldn't start properly (I still had 2.1.1 of X11 at that time). It would get going on the startup script and then hang so that I needed to force quit. I thought it might be that I had forgotten to start X11 first, so I tried again with X11 already running. Still nothing. I tried deleting the preferences, upgrading to X11 2.1.4, reinstalling OOo 2.4 and choosing not to include Apple fonts (I had read in one person's similar experience that certain fonts were at fault), downgrading back to 2.1.1. I tried opening in Rosetta in case there was some problem with the Intel code. Nothing.What bothers me in particular is that it was working one day and stopped the next. The only change to the system I recall between working and not working was an iTunes update. Could something in that update have affected the system in such a way as to break OOo 2.4? --Pete
A known issue with the latest 2.4 release.If you run the application from the shell/terminal, it will run. I have switched to the beta 3.0 and had no problems.
You would need to run this from a terminal/shell to get the application to run (make sure what the application is actually called);
