George, can it be the case that you have a PDF reader, like Adobe Reader or Foxit Reader (*http://tinyurl.com/4a4a6*) installed on your XP, but not on your Vista machine ? This would explain why you are able to open PDF files on the former, but not on the latter. A PDF reader is not included in the OO.o package.... Henri
