Dave,

You both don't get it. I already know about Google Docs but that's not the
topic here. The topic is the fact that Open Office is NOT online and I'm
suggesting that it be offered online to keep up with what everyone else is
doing at thinkfree.com, docs.google.com and zoho.com. Now do you get it?

I already looked into Ulteo and it's garbage. It's just a VNC connection to
another computer running Open Office. That's not what the others are doing.
Ulteo is very slow and sluggish. Thinkfree Office 3 is based on their software
which you can buy on CD and install, download and install, or use the online
version in your web browser via Java.

All I'm saying is Open Office is ONLY available for download and CD
installation. You should create it in Java for online use as Thinkfree did to
keep up with the way things are headed - all software online.

You guys are taking my suggestion and turning into an argument.

Greg in Ohio

I think Harold did understand what you were saying (he very rarely gets
it wrong). I think it was you who misunderstood his "upload/download"
terminology, because Google Docs does pretty much the same thing as you
are proposing.

Terminology aside, there is already a project being developed, for the
on-line (in browser) editing and storage of documents using OOo.
See: http://www.ulteo.com/home/en/news/2007/12/11

I trust this will ultimately meet all your requirements.
