Hi Drew...
Thanks for the information about my questions, I'm working with the free version of O.O.123,
  Question 1.-
I made an inventory database and I need de information about of quantity of each item, is a easy question but some times i don't have idea how make this; I use the fieds "queantity", "add item" and "less item"; my idea is make a sum of QUANTITY+ADD ITEM and/or QUANTITY-LESS ITEM, in both case the value of quantity itself not as it should be all constant and/or variable, if I have 100 items (quantity) and I receive 15 (add item) is clear that are 115 items, and now we remove 30 (less item) they remain 85 items, to there we go well, I suppose that the value of quantity remains fixed and to the following day 85 items - 23 items = 62 items, or well to add later 62 items + 14 items = 76 items... well easy that is this truth?, therefore him I have not managed to do...
Hello Jorge,

I guess you mean OpenOffice.org 2.3.1, right?

I would be less then honest if I didn't tell you that I am having a little difficulty following your text..but be that as it may. For your first question I think maybe you are talking about how to handle transactions, not just how to do math in a query. If that is the case maybe this as a start - the thread never finished as I became unavailable for a while - but if it is the right start it can be picked up again. So take a look here
http://www.oooforum.org/forum/viewtopic.phtml?t=31472

If this is the type of thing you are asking about then I would be happy to move that discussion to the community forum and wrap it up with an upload of the actual example database and forms. ( over the next week or so ) - let me know.

  Question 2.-
himself not if the version free that I have of OpenOffice is limited (that should be it) permit me to create a menu of interaction between the user and the information, if really that a menu main with options appear of "to see the invetario", "to bring up to date inventory", "to generate reports (printed and/or in screen)", "to leave the program", in ms-access I have done him a couple of times and obviously the options with this program Similar, but himself not as to find these options, (that foolish truth), another small problem is that I have Windows 2000 professional, but like the user of NT without privileges of administrator I may not be bringing up to date this version to each while and the administrator of said network this in another city, does not he come to each while and obviously did not he want to leave the password, you believe that he can do something with this version of OO???
I'll get back on this one...again I think I know what you are looking for but need to dig out the best example.

Drew
