Hi Bob,
I'm using Debian Lenny with OOo2.4 and I agree with NoOp. I see the
Dejavusanscondensed with no problem. I also have the .ttf files installed
here:
/usr/share/fonts/truetype/ttf-dejavu/DejaVuSansCondensed.ttf
As NoOp suggested, try updating your cache or reinstalling/relocating the
dejavusans fonts.
