The normal method for removing applications is the Add/Remove programs utility, located in the Control Panel.
OpenOffice does not have a separate program for unzipping files. You may be thinking of the ODF file formats, which OpenOffice uses by default, which are zipped, and thus easily opened, if you want to examine the contents etc. If you want to unzip other files, you'll have to install some utility to do that.
