Action has already been taken by using Add & Remove Programs and opening OpenOffice and doing a "CHANGE" then basically doing a MODIFY which, I believe, used the files from the
"installation" folder/files that were installed. Problem has been corrected.

This past week I had to do a "clean" install on my computer. I have re-installed
my Windows XP Home along with OpenOffice v2.4.

My problem is ... when I open any previously saved documents (OpenOffice)
that I keep getting a notice/window asking me which program to open the
document with.

Also, when I open/run IE7 - Tools - Internet Options - Programs and go to
Internet Programs, there no option to use Open Office as the "HTML Editor".
Only NOTEPAD appears here.

Is there something wrong with XP Home, IE7, OpenOffice or any combination
of the three?

Please advise what I might be able to check. I have already done two "clean"
installs this past week and I am not really looking forward to another so soon!

Thanks for listening and any assist.

Did you actually install OpenOffice or just copy the files from a back up? It sounds like the file associations haven't been set for OpenOffice.
