Hello Peter, I didn't know about the unticking Java in OOo's options... I don't know if this is a good idea, since you then can't use the JRE, and I believe Base uses this. The other solutions are: • keeping Leopard (and X11) updated X11 update: http://trac.macosforge.org/projects/xquartz/wiki/Releases • start X11 (from Programs/Utilities) before you start OOo • you can even run OOo from the xterminal window with this command: sh /Applications/OpenOffice.org 2.4.app/Contents/MacOS/soffice (haven't tried this) • http://shaunmcdonald131.blogspot.com/2008/03/ooo-possible-fix-for-command-timed-out.html (haven't tried this) • download the Aqua version of OOo (no need for X11, and more Mac-like) - but you might bump into some bugs, since it's still a Beta version, not an official release Hope one of these helps -- Guy using dutch OOo Aqua Beta 3.0.0 (and older) on a iMac Intel DualCore Tiger and brazilian OOo SRC 680 m241 on an Intel MacBook Pro Leopard -- please reply only to [email protected] -- Dodoes can't afford to have headaches
