How can i get hold of solver for openoffice Calc?? why is it not already

Not too sure what 'solver' does, but try this extension:
http://extensions.services.openoffice.org/project/eurooffice-solver

There is a non-free version available from the same company which offers 3
new algorithms. If you live on the edge and need a full blown maths program
to utilise within calc, then try a cutting edge extension which integrates
calc with r :

Reply to the list if I've misunderstood the question.

Hi Steve,

Along with the EuroOffice solver extension there is:

One available at http://kohei.us/ooo/solver, the developer is ( now ) a Novell employee and is I believe part of the Novell OpenOffice.org distribution - may even be in some of the Linux distros..but I'm not really sure on either of the last two statements.

Another solver for Calc...hmmm...OpenOffice.org 3.0 available from www.openoffice.org sill include a solver written by Sun employees...

All that is left is for the IBM developers to add yet another variant to their Symphony derivative of Openoffice.org to round out the party...*chuckle*
