I am not a Mac user, but this has been asked often enough on the list
that it is pretty generally known:
Do File -New and you will have choice of file types to open.
BTW I'm looking for medical people who might be interested in working on
a medical dictionary for OOo. Would you or any of your staff/students
have time to lend a hand? I have a list of 60000+ which needs some checking.
