Thank you Brian for helping. I checked again and in the French version,
even the word Font does not exist in the help index. Maybe a flaw of the
French version.

could someone enlighten me about using Fontworks ? I would like to
write a title with a funny contorted shape as is certainly possible
with Fontworks. Unfortunately, the Help index of Writer doesn't even
consider the word Fontworks ; it simply does not exist. So I studied
a little with the more complete instructions for Writer (156 pages)
and found the chapter. I tried to apply the twist to a simple word
but after choosing the relevant form and pressed OK I got the word
FONTWORKS twisted instead of my word. Has anybody an idea how to use
this facility ? Thank you. BTW I use 2.4 French under W XP 2E.
You won't find "Fontworks" in the help text, since the facility is
called "Fontwork", not "Fontworks". (At least, it is in the English
version.) There is an entry under "Fontwork icons" in the English
help text.
When you have your sample text object with the word "Fontwork",
double-click it. Apart from the eight green handles, you will see a
copy of the text - currently the word "Fontwork" - in normal text at
the centre of the graphic. You can now edit this version to the text
that you wish to see. You can also apply formatting to this text.
Click outside the graphic to see the results of your changes.
I trust this helps.
