I'm not totally sure about your question.
Interactively you can search by clicking on the "Search Record" tool
button found all the way to the left of the data navigation tool bar.
Not the search tool button found on the standard tool bar -
unfortunately the buttons share the same icon so people sometime try the
one and miss the other. With this dialog you can search for multiple
values in a single column or multiple columns.
You can also "search" by using filters allowing you use a form entry
method. This is launched from the tool button all the way to the right
of the data navigation toolbar.
If you mean that you want to create a custom search box different from
these two built in functions let me know.
