Might be a feature. I notice if \O is in the list, it's impossible to
enter \o - it keeps changing the case. I notice it scans the list of
existing entries as characters are added.

It might be related to autocapitalization. I added
ooo => openoffice.
Trying to type
ooo ooo xyz
led to
Openoffice openoffice xyz

Oh, and when subsequently trying to  add OOO to the list, I was
allowed O and OO in the 'replace' box, but on the 3rd O it all
switched to lower case, ooo, to match the existing entry.

Misfeature, I'd say.
