how do you change it from espanol to english please
Change what? Do you mean you want to change the menus, Help text, error
messages, Tool tips etc.? Or do you mean you want to change the language
in which OpenOffice checks your spelling?
If the former, you need to download the English version. If that didn't
happen automatically it probably means the web site thought you were not
in an English speaking country and gave you the version for the
language it thought you wanted. To get "foreign" language versions,
click the Download *tab* on the home page at www.openoffice.org, then click
"Get more platforms and languages" and then select the language you want.
If you mean the latter you first need to install an English dictionary
via File>Wizards>Install New Dictionaries and you then need to set it as
your preferred language in Tools>Options>Language Settings>Languages. If
you want to write polyglot documents you need to install all the
relevant dictionaries and then create "styles" for each language; by
then selecting the right style for a word/sentence/paragraph/... you can
specify that that section should be spell checked in the language set
for that style. Note that English comes in several flavours including
American, British and Australian among others; pick the one(s) right for
you.
