Hello,
I donated $40 without seeing Openoffice. I had read enough
reviews to feel comfortable doing so. I had trailed
Corel Wordperfect Office and I liked it, but didn't wish
to pay the price. This morning I got a sales pitch offering
to sell WPO for $12.95. I suppose it's too late to take
my donation back, or a portion of it. Comments Please.
You've reached a mailing list populated by volunteers. To take up the
question of a refund I would guess you'd need to contact the credit card
processor.
As for the offer of Wordperfect Office for $12.95 I would be suspicious of
that. I know Corel has special offers from time to time but I can't say I
ever recall them offering WPO for less than about $90 and I've been on their
mailing list almost since they acquired Wordperfect from Novell.
I get pitches all the time offering software at unbelievable rates,
including Microsoft Office dirt cheap. Chances are it's a scam or the
copies are bootleg and not something sent by OpenOffice. Why would they
try to sell you WordPerfect when you can get their product for free?
Someone on the list picked up your email address and sent the 'offer'.
