OpenOffice is a free suite of office software that competes very well
with MS Office. It does word processing including mail merge,
spreadsheets including graphs and charts, database management,
presentation making, drawings and a few other things. It produces ISO
(International Standards Organisation) standard documents defined as
"ODF" - Open Document Format - but can also produce PDF (Portable
Document Format) documents and documents processible by MS Office.
If Nextech can read and write such documents then I'd guess the answer
is "yes". If not then I'd guess the answer is "no".
You might want to ask the Nextech folk if their product supports the
internationally recognised standard ODF format for documents and, if
not, when they plan to make it do so.
